Olympia Development of Michigan today announced a new Starbucks location will soon open in a renovated street-level retail space of the Fox Theatre building at Montcalm Street – adding to more than 10 retail and restaurant tenants already announced or operating along Woodward Avenue in The District Detroit.

The 3,000 square-foot storefront will be the Seattle-based, global coffee retailer’s third stand-alone location along the Woodward corridor stretching from downtown to Midtown. Construction is currently under way with an opening later this year.

“We’re excited to have yet another prominent retailer choosing to invest in The District Detroit,” said Keith Bradford, Senior Vice President — Olympia Development of Michigan. “Starbucks adds great food options for the millions of people who visit for games and shows, as well as those who live and work in the area. As we come closer to the opening of Columbia Street, more and more new retailers and restaurants will be opening their doors here as well. Development of The District Detroit and the addition of these new retailers has also brought thousands of construction and permanent jobs for Detroiters.”

Just a block down from the new Starbucks location is Columbia Street, a new shopping and dining destination, with nine new storefronts offering diverse food and beverage options, retail and outdoor dining for fans before and after events.
